Stockton Sixth Form Football Academy is a great opportunity to develop as a footballer whilst continuing your educational journey. This is a brilliant way of aligning both aspects of college life alongside studying 3 A levels or BTECs.
Students will train 4 times a week on our state of the art 3G pitch under the watchful eye of our UEFA coaches. Students will study all aspects of the game like never before giving you the professional experience while also competing in the North East College Premier League with matches on a Wednesday afternoon.
The College has outstanding links with Teesside University which offer students the chance to attend their state-of-the-art facilities and undertake lectures and seminars in topics such as sports nutrition, sports therapy, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, sports rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
This season several students have benefited from the rehabilitation team and attended weekly rehab sessions to aid their recovery. One player who broke his foot in October is already back training and playing, had this of happened playing local league on a weekend his season would have been over. This is a huge benefit and one the students have really appreciated.
Another aspect which students have enjoyed is the GPS and game analysis software technology. Every young footballers dream of being on TV and this enables the student to watch, playback and track everything they do like in the premier league on a weekly basis. It goes without saying that this has taken many students games onto the next level and it is no surprise that 4 students have already signed for Northern league teams and been starting games regularly. The College’s link with Stockton Town Football Club is extremely successful and this season one player has even signed for their first team and been involved on a match day, which is an incredible achievement with the partnerships first full season.
